Talking about Bali, you will visualize a beautiful sunset, nice friendly people, enticing culture and rituals, and picturesque rice fields. But, Bali, which is well known for its sparkling tourism, has many basic problems. The last forest of Bali, which is also the source of clean water in Jembrana, is being encroached by its own people. Now they live in fear facing the threat of water shortages during the dry season, and wary of floods in the rainy season. The worst part is, that this has even escaped the attention of the Balinese peoples themselves.
Through Wayan Restu’s journey as one of the water officers in the village, we explored and observed his activities for several days in the forest. Through this film, we try to present the sense of a forest that is still magnificent with charming green leaves color, breathtaking giant trees, the non-stop chirping of birds and the calming gurgling of water that accompany the journey.
Although danger threatens at every corner, Wayan Restu’s journey is a journey that captures honestly whatever is in the forest, both its beauty, and its vulnerability.
At the end of the trip, Wayan Restu conveyed an echo of hope through the seeds that were planted with a number of children in the middle of the forest eroded by encroachment which was getting worse day by day.
